We have been trying to figure out life here with 3 kids. Susie is doing good. We have had some extra Dr's appointments but all in all she is doing good.
Hospital Visitors
This is when Anna and Carter came and Saw Susie for the first time. Carter Reached out just like that and said " I hold her". Then after he got his chance which lasted for 2 secounds he went to the door and said "I be right back."
I just thought this one was funny.
You can almost hear her saying, "Nana nana nana!"

Port-wine Stain
As you can see in her pictures she has what is called a Port-wine stain over her right eye. Because of this we had to go to an eye Dr in Yakima to get her tested for glaucoma. The stain and glaucoma are signs of a syndrome called Sturge-webber. The test came back clear but the want to see her in three months to recheck.
9 Days old
We had her check-up yesterday. When the nurse measured Susie she had shrunck an Inch and 3/4, so I had the dr re measure and she had only shrunk 3/4 of an inch. So we are going to say that she was 21 inches long at birth not 21 and 3/4. It makes more sense too.
The also tested her for billyruben and her leavels are high so now she is straped to a light and I can't take her more than a couple feet from the wall. No fun. It is kind of funny to see her glow like a raido active baby though. i will put up pictures of the latter.

What a sweetie! Anna and Carter sure seem to love having a baby sister!
Congratulations you guys!! She is beautiful! (This is Will Thomas's wife, Jenni, by the way).
I had a port winestain birthmark when I was born - on my chin. I still have it actually. But I had laser surgery when I was in 9th grade to remove most of it. I am actually going to go back and have the rest of it removed when we can afford it again (or when our insurance will cover it). It was pretty deep so there are spots they weren't able to cover (if it looks like I always have a red zit on the left lower corner below my lip, I don't, it is part of my birthmark).
Our son Preston also has a very small PWS birthmark on the back of his head.
Anyway if you ever have any questions about these kinds of birthmarks feel free to shoot me an email. :) I know you can't remove them when they are babies, but when they are old enough. We also have some friends with a son where he has one that covered his eye too. He is 4 years old now and they are starting to see doctors about removing it.
Most of the time, at least it is just cosmetic. :) Unless it is of course cancerous. I had mine removed for cosmetic reasons though of course - I won't lie, it was hard to go to school with it. Well not grade school, but as I got into the junior high years where kids start to be mean....and that is when I got it removed.
Your little girl is so incredibly beautiful. I actually love the birthmark. Just because it strikes a special chord in my own heart. :) Congrats again you guys. (sorry I rambled on and on...)
I also just read up on the surge-syndrome. Keep us updated on what you find out...I've never heard of this before. but I do know of two other children with similar PWS birthmarks (covering eye and forehead). Just wondering if theirs was the same syndrome.
She is so cute. I love her chubby cheeks!
She is so cute! I can't wait to see her again!
Those cheeks and that cute chubby belly have me itching to hold her! I need to come by and see you guys.
Susie is absolutely beautiful Janna! Congratulations!!!!
Hey I remember my days with Kaleigh on a 23 hour light regimen we called her our little glow worm. Congrats again.
