I was at Winco today. While I was checking out a lady at the next line over broke a jar of spaghetti sauce. While the cashier was ringer her up she insisted that he charge her for the broken jar. He said that they don't charge for broken merchandise even if the customer broke it. She insisted again, that it was her fault and that it "was the right thing to do" that she be charged.
I would like to thank this woman. I have no idea who she is, but today she was an example to me. It is all to often that we do not want to "pay" for our mistakes. I don't know, in fact I am pretty sure that I would not have insisted on paying for the sauce. I am really not sure what I would have done, but I do know what I will do if this ever happens to me. It was such a small thing to do for this woman, less than $2. But I guess it was nice to see someone be honest and "pay" for their mistake.

I have had a similar experience happen to me at Cash and Carry. I asked to pay for it and they wouldn't let me. I obviously still have guilt over this today and wish they would have let me pay for it. It is a definite reflection on our society today on not wanting to be accountable for our actions.
That is impressive.
What a great experience awesome thanks for sharing
It's nice to hear stories like this. She sounds like a wonderful example!
Perfect! Love it!
